Speaking during the presentation, Kazeem said Fagbemi emerged through a transparent and merit-based selection process conducted by the Society’s National Executive Council following a vacancy in the office of the Pro-Chancellor.

He said the Council unanimously approved the appointment in recognition of Fagbemi’s distinguished legal career, exemplary public service, integrity and commitment to the educational vision of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society.

According to him, the Attorney General’s leadership experience would provide strategic direction for the University’s Governing Council and strengthen Summit University’s commitment to academic excellence, sound governance, research, innovation and character development.

Kazeem also commended Fagbemi for his longstanding support for the Society’s programmes and institutions, particularly in Kwara State, as well as his contributions to educational development across Nigeria.

Responding, Fagbemi expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Society for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to discharge the responsibilities of the office with diligence, transparency and integrity.

He assured members of the Society that he would work closely with the Governing Council, university management and other stakeholders to advance Summit University’s long-term strategic vision.

The appointment comes as universities across Nigeria continue to strengthen their governing councils with accomplished professionals to improve governance, accountability and institutional growth.

Established by the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Summit University, Offa, has continued to expand its academic profile as one of Nigeria’s leading faith-based universities, promoting academic excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, moral discipline and service to humanity.

The Society reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the university’s governance structure as it pursues its vision of building a globally competitive institution of higher learning.
