FIFA is reportedly set to introduce a Super Bowl-style spectacle at Sunday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup final, with the half-time interval expected to last around 30 minutes.
The extended break would allow for an 11-minute musical performance alongside the traditional television analysis, making it the longest half-time in World Cup final history.
The entertainment lineup includes global stars Madonna, Justin Bieber, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus performing alongside Coldplay.

The event, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin in partnership with Global Citizen, will mark the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show.
Burna Boy, representing Africa, has described the opportunity as both a privilege and a responsibility, while FIFA says the show will also support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
The planned interval has attracted attention because football’s Laws of the Game limit half-time breaks to 15 minutes. FIFA previously exceeded that limit during the FIFA Club World Cup final, and reports suggest the governing body is prepared to do so again for the World Cup showpiece.
The entertainment will be preceded by a star-studded pre-match ceremony featuring Robbie Williams, Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Scherzinger, Laura Pausini and a guest appearance by Tom Cruise.
Although FIFA has officially confirmed the halftime performers, it has not publicly confirmed that the break will last 30 minutes.
