Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr finished as Africa’s leading scorer after netting four goals. The Crystal Palace forward consistently troubled defenders with his pace, movement and finishing to spearhead Senegal’s campaign.

DR Congo’s Yoane Wissa also enjoyed an impressive tournament. Returning from injury, the Newcastle United forward scored three goals, including a decisive brace that helped his country reach the knockout rounds for the first time.

Teenage winger Yan Diomande emerged as one of Côte d’Ivoire’s brightest stars. The RB Leipzig youngster dazzled with his speed, dribbling and creativity as the Elephants advanced beyond the group stage.

Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi once again delivered on the biggest stage, producing influential displays and key goals that helped the Atlas Lions progress deep into the tournament.

Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha became one of the World Cup’s biggest surprise performers. At 40, he produced several outstanding saves, including a memorable display against Spain that earned global recognition.

Morocco’s Ismael Saibari also enjoyed a remarkable campaign, making history by scoring in all three group-stage matches and finishing among Africa’s top scorers.

For Côte d’Ivoire, Amad Diallo delivered important goals while providing creativity and attacking energy throughout the competition.

Senegal midfielder Pape Gueye impressed with his commanding box-to-box performances, combining defensive discipline with attacking contributions.

Egypt’s Emam Ashour stood out for the Pharaohs with influential performances and crucial goals that kept his side competitive against elite opposition.

Rounding off the top 10 is Algeria’s Ibrahim Maza, whose technical quality, creativity and confidence shone despite his country’s overall struggles.

The performances of these stars highlighted the continued rise of African football on the global stage, with several players enhancing their reputations during the continent’s most successful World Cup campaign to date.
