The family of a Nigerian woman, Christiana Nwosu, has launched a public fundraising campaign to repatriate her remains to Nigeria after she reportedly died of cardiac arrest while visiting the United Kingdom.
According to a GoFundMe appeal launched on behalf of the family, Nwosu died on July 19, 2026, leaving her children, relatives and friends devastated by her sudden passing.
The family described her as a loving and compassionate woman whose death has left an irreplaceable void in their lives.

They said their greatest wish is to return her body to Nigeria for burial among her extended family and loved ones.
According to the appeal, repatriating her remains from the United Kingdom will cost about £10,000, covering funeral director fees, specialist repatriation services, documentation, air freight, transportation and burial expenses.
The family appealed to members of the public to support the fundraising campaign through donations or by sharing the appeal with others.
As of the time of filing this report, £7,941 had been raised toward the £10,000 target.
The case highlights the financial burden many families face when repatriating the remains of loved ones who die abroad, with crowdfunding increasingly becoming a source of support during such difficult times.
