Arsenal have lifted the curtain on the journey behind the club’s Premier League title success, publishing an extensive behind-the-scenes feature that credits years of cultural transformation, strategic leadership, and collective belief for the achievement.

Published on the club’s official platforms, the feature recounts how manager Mikel Arteta, the club’s ownership led by Stan and Josh Kroenke, sporting director Andrea Berta, players, and supporters combined to restore Arsenal to the summit of English football.

Reflecting on captain Martin Ødegaard lifting the Premier League trophy, Arteta said the reality of the moment surpassed anything he had imagined during the rebuilding process.

“It was much better. I was just looking at the players’ faces, how much it means to them, and to see them gathering together and lifting it. It was incredible,” the Arsenal manager said.

According to the club, the celebrations extended well beyond North London, with around one million supporters lining the streets of Islington for the victory parade and fans across Africa, Asia and Australia joining in the festivities.

Arsenal described the celebrations as transcending football, recounting scenes ranging from supporters climbing trees in London to a bishop in Lagos leading members of his congregation in songs celebrating the club’s title triumph.

New signing Eberechi Eze, quoted in the feature, said the success represented far more than winning football matches.

“There are no words to describe this thing properly, what we’re feeling, what we’re going through, what this moment means. This isn’t just about winning the title as a group of players. This is about something that represents an area, represents values, represents people’s dreams… Arsenal is the culture club.”

Rebuilding Arsenal’s identity

The publication says Arteta’s rebuilding project was founded on restoring the club’s culture before focusing solely on results.

Co-chair Josh Kroenke recalled that discussions during Arteta’s appointment centred on rebuilding Arsenal’s identity.

“When the time came to hire Mikel, the entire conversation we had with him was about culture and reinventing that. You could see him lock in. He had done his homework… and he understood there was a big task ahead of him,” Kroenke said.

Sporting director Andrea Berta said recruitment decisions prioritised character alongside footballing ability.

“During the summer transfer window, a focus we both had, Mikel and I, was to improve the team technically. But first we wanted to improve it humanly, because for us, the group, its integrity and its maturity was the most important aspect.”

Captain Martin Ødegaard also highlighted the togetherness that developed within the squad.

“We really care for each other. We really help each other. We fight for each other. We give everything, every single day, for each other,” he said.

The feature also highlights the contributions of goalkeeper David Raya, defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães, midfielder Declan Rice and several other players, while emphasising that belief and unity remained central to the team’s success throughout the campaign.

Arteta recalled urging supporters to remain united during difficult periods, telling them, “Jump in this boat. It is going to be fun. A lot of incredible things are going to emerge.”

Arsenal concludes that the title was the reward for years of persistence, built on strong relationships between ownership, management, players and supporters.

“They won by unity, with everyone playing their part to the best of their ability,” the club said, describing the triumph as the culmination of a shared long-term vision.
