First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has donated ₦5 million to beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Initiative Agricultural Support Programme in Anambra State to support and strengthen their businesses.

The money was presented to the beneficiaries on behalf of the First Lady by Anambra State Governor’s wife, Nonye Soludo, at the Light House in Awka.

Soludo disclosed the donation in a statement issued on Monday by her media aide, Daniel Ezeigwe.

According to the statement, the gesture followed the warm reception given to Tinubu by beneficiaries of the agricultural support programme during her visit to Anambra State last Thursday.

The beneficiaries were said to have presented a token of support for President Bola Tinubu and his administration ahead of the 2027 general election during the First Lady’s visit.

The statement said Tinubu described the gesture as unprecedented and decided to reciprocate by supporting the beneficiaries with ₦5 million.

Soludo said the funds were intended to further support and strengthen the beneficiaries’ businesses.

The Renewed Hope Initiative Agricultural Support Programme is designed to support vulnerable households and improve access to nutritious food, particularly among people facing food insecurity and nursing mothers.

The programme forms part of the First Lady’s broader Renewed Hope Initiative, which has various interventions focused on women, children, agriculture, education and vulnerable groups.

Soludo described the donation as another reminder of the value of kindness and appreciation.

She thanked Tinubu for the gesture, expressing hope that the financial support would help the beneficiaries expand and sustain their businesses.

The donation comes amid preparations for the 2027 general election, after the beneficiaries reportedly expressed support for President Tinubu and his administration during the First Lady’s visit to the state.

The beneficiaries’ gesture and the subsequent donation were disclosed by the Anambra State Governor’s wife through her media aide.
