The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revised its presidential campaign council for the 2027 general election, naming Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo among the prominent figures assigned campaign responsibilities.
The revised list, made available on Tuesday, also includes Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo as the ruling party strengthens its campaign structure ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Tinubu will chair the council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda serving as vice-chairmen.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq are also listed as senior council officials.
Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari retains his position as director-general, while Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu are among the deputy directors-general.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole will oversee mobilisation, while Femi Gbajabiamila is assigned administrative responsibilities. Ibrahim Kabir Masari will handle logistics and operations, and former Speaker Aminu Masari will oversee parliamentary mobilisation.
James Faleke will coordinate election planning, monitoring and mobilisation, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma retains his position as council secretary. Senator Ajibola Basiru and Hadiza Bala Usman are listed as deputy secretary and assistant secretary, respectively.
Wike, Adeleke, Soludo receive state assignments
The revised arrangement assigns Wike responsibility for coordinating the APC presidential campaign in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory.
Adeleke is listed as the campaign coordinator for Osun State, while Soludo will coordinate activities in Anambra.
Oborevwori is named director of finance, while Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Nigeria Revenue Service chairman Zacch Adedeji are assigned fundraising responsibilities.
The appointments are notable because the three governors and the FCT minister have political affiliations outside the APC.
Wike is associated with the Peoples Democratic Party, Soludo belongs to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, and Adeleke won the 2026 Osun governorship election on the Accord Party platform. Their inclusion in the campaign structure does not, by itself, establish that they have formally joined the APC.
Six geopolitical zones covered
The council also provides for campaign coordinators and co-coordinators across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
Cross River Governor Bassey Otu and Victor Giadom are assigned to the South-South, while Enugu Governor Peter Mbah and Tjeoma Arodiogbu will coordinate the South-East.
Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Prince Oladiran Iyantan are listed for the South-West. Muazu Bawa Rijau and Niger Governor Umar Bago are assigned to the North-Central, while Kaduna Governor Uba Sani and Garba Datti Muhammad will oversee the North-West.
Former Borno Governor Ali Modu Sheriff and Idris Suhaibu are listed for the North-East.
Other figures named as advisers include former APC national chairmen Adebisi Akande and Abdullahi Adamu, former Ogun governors Ibikunle Amosun and Segun Osoba, former Osun governor Iyiola Omisore, Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo, George Akume and Wale Edun. Obafemi George is listed as a media adviser.
Campaign preparations gather pace
The revised council builds on the structure announced by the Presidency in August, when Tinubu was named chairman, Yari director-general and Uzodimma secretary.
The original announcement also established campaign directorates covering media, mobilisation, election planning, logistics and other operational responsibilities. The latest changes expand the assignments and bring additional political figures into the campaign framework.
The expanded structure is expected to coordinate campaign activities across the federation as political parties prepare for the 2027 elections.
