BBNaija organisers have officially opened registrations for the reality show’s highly anticipated 11th season, setting off excitement among fans and aspiring contestants across Nigeria.
The organisers announced on Saturday that interested applicants can register for the audition process between May 16 and May 20 through the official Africa Magic audition portal.
Successful applicants will then proceed to the physical audition stage scheduled to hold from May 22 to May 24 in Lagos, Abuja and Enugu.
In the announcement shared on the show’s official platforms, prospective housemates were advised to complete their registration early as the portal would close once the available slots are filled.
“It’s time! #BBNaija Season 11 auditions registration is here,” the organisers stated, adding that the audition process is completely free for eligible applicants.
According to the guidelines released by the organisers, only Nigerians aged 21 and above with valid means of identification will be considered for the selection process. Applicants are also expected to select preferred audition dates, locations and times during registration.
The organisers warned that multiple entries could lead to automatic disqualification, while audition materials submitted by participants may be used by the producers across global platforms.
This year’s exercise marks another return to physical auditions after the show experimented with online and hybrid audition formats in previous seasons, especially during and after the COVID-19 period.
Industry observers say the move back to in-person screenings is likely aimed at improving participant assessment and recreating the early-season excitement that once surrounded physical audition venues nationwide.
The development comes months after the conclusion of the show’s landmark 10th season, which attracted massive viewership across Africa and social media platforms.
Season 10 featured 29 contestants battling for the coveted grand prize valued at ₦150 million.
Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, eventually emerged winner of the edition after securing 42.8 per cent of viewers’ votes during the finale. He defeated finalists including Dede, Koyin, Sultana, Kola, Jason Jae, Mensan, Isabella and Kaybobo.
Since its debut in 2006 and relaunch in 2017, BBNaija has grown into one of Africa’s most commercially successful entertainment franchises, producing several celebrities, influencers, actors and entrepreneurs.
Past winners of the reality television show include Mercy Eke, Laycon, Whitemoney, Phyna and Ilebaye, many of whom have gone on to secure endorsement deals and careers in entertainment.
The announcement has already generated significant buzz on social media, with fans speculating about possible twists, house themes and prize packages for the new season.
While organisers have yet to confirm the official premiere date for Season 11, anticipation continues to build ahead of the audition process as thousands of hopeful contestants prepare for a chance to enter Biggie’s house.
