The Yobe State Government has commenced the disbursement of March 2026 salaries to civil servants ahead of schedule, in preparation for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
According to officials, Governor Mai Mala Buni approved the decision, and the state’s Ministry of Finance confirmed that payments have already been processed and forwarded to banks.
In a statement issued by the government’s Digital and Strategic Communications unit, the early salary release was described as a measure to help workers meet financial obligations and prepare for the festive period.
The administration noted that it has consistently maintained timely salary payments since assuming office, emphasizing that civil servants have continued to receive their wages without delay.
It further stated that the initiative aligns with broader efforts to prioritise employee welfare while maintaining ongoing development projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and agriculture.
Officials added that the move reflects the government’s commitment to prudent financial management and transparency, with a focus on improving living standards for residents of the state.
