Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Tram has become one of the earliest contestants to dominate conversations on social media after an old viral video involving American content creator Darren Watkins Jr., better known as iShowSpeed, resurfaced shortly after his official introduction into the reality show.
The 24-year-old Lagos-born streamer and content creator was unveiled on Sunday as one of the first housemates of the new season. Introducing himself to viewers, Tram described his personality as an “easygoing hustler” determined to play the game and entertain audiences throughout the competition.
His debut, however, quickly reignited a controversy dating back to iShowSpeed’s visit to Nigeria during his widely publicised “Speed Does Africa” tour in early 2026.
Within minutes of Tram’s introduction, users across X, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram began sharing clips from the encounter, pushing the former livestream moment back into trending discussions.
In the viral footage, Tram approaches the American internet personality inside a crowded venue, hands him a condom and jokingly tells him he has a “fine shyt” or “babe” waiting for him while gesturing towards a nearby woman. He also references the streamer having recently turned 21, suggesting he was now old enough to enjoy nightlife more freely.
The exchange lasted only a few moments, with iShowSpeed laughing before passing the condom to a member of his security detail. Although brief, the interaction generated intense online debate at the time.
Many Nigerians criticised Tram, accusing him of attempting to “offer” local women to the visiting streamer. Others argued that the encounter reflected poorly on Nigerians trying to impress foreign celebrities.
Responding to the criticism after the incident, Tram rejected those interpretations, insisting that the moment had been taken completely out of context.
“I was only trying to be funny,” he said, explaining that the interaction reflected the playful culture of livestream creators rather than a serious gesture.
He also argued that many Nigerians had exaggerated the encounter because of iShowSpeed’s global popularity, insisting he simply treated the American creator like any other content producer.
The resurfaced clip has again divided opinion online.
While some users revived earlier criticism and questioned Tram’s conduct, others defended him, saying critics ignored the culture of online streaming where exaggerated humour and spontaneous jokes are common.
Entertainment observers believe the renewed attention could work in Tram’s favour, as contestants who generate early conversations often enjoy increased visibility among viewers.
Season 11 of Big Brother Naija premiered on Sunday with 24 housemates competing for the show’s ₦160 million grand prize.
With viewers already debating his past online interactions, Tram appears set to remain one of the season’s most talked-about contestants.
