Big Brother Naija has introduced the first major gameplay twist of Season 11, unveiling “The Gambit”—a strategic advantage that guarantees two housemates a place in the grand finale but removes their eligibility to win the show’s record ₦160 million grand prize.
The announcement was made during Monday’s live session and shared across the show’s official social media platforms, where viewers were invited to vote for one male and one female contestant to assume the new role.
According to the organisers, the male and female housemates with the highest fan votes will become The Gambits, securing immunity from eviction until the end of the competition.
The advantage, however, comes with a major trade-off. Although they will remain in the house until the finale, they will no longer be eligible to compete for the ₦160 million grand prize.
Announcing the twist, the organisers said there would be no eviction this week, with viewers instead deciding which contestants would receive the strategic advantage.
Biggie explained to the housemates that The Gambit guarantees longevity in the competition but comes at the cost of the ultimate reward.
He added that the selected contestants would continue to participate in all house activities, sponsored tasks and reward opportunities while remaining fully subject to the rules governing the competition.
Voting has already commenced, with every housemate eligible except the current Head of House, Chimsom Chuka, who is exempt from the exercise.
The twist comes just a day after the premiere of the “Show Yourself” edition of Big Brother Naija, which introduced a new lineup of contestants competing for the biggest prize package in the show’s history.
With no eviction in the opening week and two guaranteed finalists to be decided by viewers, The Gambit is expected to reshape alliances, strategies and gameplay from the earliest stages of the competition.
