Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has approved the release of N2.11 billion for the payment of gratuities and death benefits to 772 beneficiaries, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of retired public servants and the families of deceased workers.
The beneficiaries include retired state and contract employees, former local government workers, retirees from Local Government Education Authorities and next of kin entitled to death benefits.
The approval was disclosed in a statement issued by the Office of the Head of Service and signed by the Director of Administration, Rashidu Muhammad Bala.
According to the statement, the sum of N2,110,403,965.83 will cover gratuities and death benefits that accrued between September 16, 2025, and January 15, 2026.
The Kebbi government said the payment aligns with its commitment to ensuring prompt settlement of retirement benefits and easing the financial burden on pensioners.
It added that Governor Idris remains committed to prioritising the welfare of workers, retirees and families of deceased public servants through the timely payment of their entitlements.
The latest approval forms part of the state’s ongoing efforts to reduce outstanding retirement obligations and strengthen confidence in public service welfare.
