Real Madrid has publicly moved to shut down growing speculation linking the club with Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, insisting it has had no contact whatsoever with the player or his representatives.
In an unusually direct statement released on Saturday, the Spanish giants denied reports circulating across European media that they were exploring a move for the France international, who joined Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace last season.
The statement, published on the club’s official website, sought to clarify Madrid’s position amid increasing rumours suggesting the 24-year-old winger had emerged as a potential transfer target.
“Given the information that appeared in various media about an alleged interest of our club for the Bayern Munich player Michael Olise, Real Madrid C.F. wishes to state that it has not had any direct or indirect contact with the aforementioned footballer, his representatives or people around him,” the club said.
Madrid also emphasised the strong relationship between the Spanish and German giants, stressing that any genuine interest in a player under contract at either club would first be addressed through official channels.
According to the statement, both clubs share a commitment to trust and mutual respect, adding that transfer discussions involving players from either side should be conducted directly between the clubs.
The rare public denial follows days of intense speculation across football media and social platforms.
Reports had suggested that club president Florentino Pérez was monitoring Olise’s progress following an impressive campaign in Germany.
The former Crystal Palace star quickly established himself as one of Bayern Munich’s most influential attacking players, attracting attention across Europe with a series of standout performances.
Following Madrid’s statement, social media platforms were flooded with reactions ranging from scepticism to amusement.
Many supporters pointed to previous transfer sagas involving the Spanish giants, arguing that public denials do not always signal the end of a potential deal.
Others accused sections of the football media of fuelling speculation without concrete evidence.
The episode once again highlights the fast-moving nature of the modern transfer market, where rumours can spread globally within hours and often gain momentum before clubs make their positions clear.
For now, Real Madrid maintains that it has not held any discussions regarding Michael Olise and has no active negotiations concerning the Bayern Munich winger.
