Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted a large consignment of materials allegedly destined for insurgent groups operating in Nigeria’s North-East, in what the military described as a major disruption of terrorist supply chains.
The operation, conducted at about 4:00 p.m. on July 19, followed actionable intelligence that led troops of Sector 1, Operation Hadin Kai, to a suspected logistics route where the suspects were intercepted during a stop-and-search exercise.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Acting Military Information Officer of the North-East Joint Task Force, Captain Muhammed Goni, said the six suspects were travelling in five vehicles while transporting materials believed to support terrorist operations.

According to him, troops recovered 202 cartons of herbicides, one Starlink wireless internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertiliser, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes, 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps and one jerrycan containing a substance suspected to be acid.
Goni said preliminary assessments suggest that the seized items have potential dual-use applications capable of supporting terrorist logistics, communications, mobility and sustainment.
He added that the recovered fertiliser and suspected acid would undergo technical and forensic examination to determine whether they were intended for the production of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) or other terrorist activities.
The military said the suspects and all recovered exhibits have been handed over to the appropriate Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation to identify the intended recipients, financiers and other members of the logistics network.
According to the army, dismantling logistics networks remains central to ongoing counter-insurgency operations because cutting off supplies weakens the ability of terrorist groups to sustain attacks, recruit fighters and maintain communication.
Captain Goni also disclosed that intelligence obtained from recently rescued hostages and surrendered families of insurgents indicates that sustained military operations targeting supply routes have significantly reduced the operational capacity of terrorist groups across the North-East.
He said persistent shortages of food, medical supplies, communications equipment and other essential logistics have forced many insurgents to abandon camps, hostages and even family members while fleeing military offensives.
Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations against terrorists, financiers, logistics suppliers, informants and collaborators across the theatre of operations.
The military also appealed to residents across the North-East to continue providing timely and credible information on suspicious movements and activities, describing public cooperation as essential to restoring lasting peace and security in the region.
