The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, has been commended for his workers and pensioners-friendly policies since the assumption of office to date

The commendation was given by various guest speakers at the three-in-one programme organised by the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Oyo state Chapter, held today at the Local Government Staff Training School, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Speaking at the swearing- in ceremony of the twenty five newly elected NULGE branches Executives, International Women’s Day Celebration ( IWD), and maiden edition of “Omidan NULGE”, the Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board Hon Akeem Ademola Ige, Chairman Local Government Service Commission Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole, SSA to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon Ramata Agberemi Dabo and SSA to the Governor on Labour Matters, Com Barrister Titilola Sodo gave kudos to Governor Seyi I Makinde for his unwavering commitment to workers and pensioners welfare.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees ( NULGE) President, Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Ayobami Adeogun said Oyo state workers especially Local Government workers have been enjoying real dividends of democracy in terms of incomparable welfare since the inception of the present administration such as regular payment of salary, pension and gratuity, promotion of workers till 2025, training and retraining, massive recruitment exercise just to mention a few.

The state NULGE President then congratulated the newly sworn-in twenty-five branches Executives and charged them to be committed to workers welfare in their respective Local Governments.
The labour leaders who graced the occasion also lauded the governor for prioritising workers’ and pensioners’ welfare and described him as one of the best governors in Nigeria who considered workers in the scheme of things.
The three-in-one programme ended with the crowning of the year 2026 Omidan NULGE, which was keenly contested by sixteen female workers from various council areas. Miss Favour Alade from Ibadan North East Local Government Primary Health Care Department emerged as the winner of the competition with One Hundred Thousand Naira ( 100,000) as the cash Prize.
The occasion was attended by top government officials, past and present union leaders, State NULGE Executives and a host of others.
