The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched an investigation into a viral video showing an altercation between an Aviation Security (AVSEC) officer and a passenger at Osubi Airport, also known as Alfred Diete-Spiff Airport, in Delta State.
The authority said any personnel found to have breached its operational procedures or professional standards would face disciplinary action.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, following widespread circulation of the video on social media.

The incident sparked public outrage online, with many Nigerians calling for an independent investigation and improved passenger handling at airports.
FAAN said its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Olubunmi Kuku, had ordered an immediate investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has taken note of the video circulating on social media regarding an interaction between Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and a passenger at Osubi Airport.
“The Managing Director/Chief Executive views the matter with utmost seriousness and has directed an immediate investigation to establish all the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident,” the statement said.
The authority stated that the outcome of the investigation would determine any further action.
It assured passengers that any officer found to have violated FAAN’s operational procedures or professional standards would face appropriate administrative and disciplinary measures.
FAAN also reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, transparency, accountability and continuous improvement in the delivery of safe, secure and passenger-focused airport services across Nigeria.
