The Allied Peoples Movement has postponed the unveiling of the Makinde/Daura presidential campaign office in Abuja from Thursday, September 3, to Monday, September 7, 2026.
The party announced the change in a statement issued on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf.
The unveiling will now take place at the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Office, 43 Agadez Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, at 11am.
The APM urged its leaders, critical stakeholders and members to take note of the revised date and make arrangements accordingly.
“We sincerely regret the inconveniences caused by this change of date,” the party said.
The postponement comes less than three weeks after Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde emerged as the APM’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election, with former Director-General of the State Security Service, Lawal Musa Daura, as his running mate.
The duo were unveiled at the party’s national convention in Bauchi on August 13, formally setting the stage for the APM’s presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Makinde said the choice of Daura was deliberate, pointing to the former intelligence chief’s experience as the country grapples with insecurity.
Daura served as Director-General of the SSS from 2015 to 2018 and brings extensive experience in Nigeria’s intelligence and security sector to the ticket.
Makinde has also called for cooperation among opposition parties, saying the task ahead of the 2027 election should extend beyond simply defeating the ruling party.
The APM has increasingly framed the Makinde/Daura ticket around security, economic recovery, improved governance and what it describes as the need to reset Nigeria.
The campaign office unveiling is expected to provide a formal operational base for the ticket’s political activities in Abuja as the party begins building momentum ahead of the election.
The APM did not give a reason for shifting the event from September 3 to September 7.
The party, however, asked its members and stakeholders to be guided by the new schedule and disregard the earlier date.
The official unveiling will now hold on Monday, September 7, 2026, at 11am, at 43 Agadez Street, Wuse 2, Abuja.
