The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results of underage candidates for viewing.
According to JAMB, an underage candidate is an applicant who will be below 16 years old as of September 30, 2026.
Candidates can check their results through SMS using the phone number they used to register for the UTME.
How to check your 2026 UTME result
Step 1: Use the phone number you registered with for the UTME.
Step 2: Open your SMS application and type RESULT.
Step 3: Send the message to 55019 or 66019.
Step 4: Your UTME result will be sent back to you via SMS.
Candidates should note that being able to view an underage UTME result does not automatically make them eligible for admission.
JAMB said the results can only be used for admission by candidates who meet the conditions for exceptional admission.
These conditions include a minimum UTME score of 320 and at least 80 per cent in relevant subjects in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.
Candidates must also satisfy other admission requirements and complete the approved assessment process before they can be considered for admission.
JAMB has warned candidates who do not meet the conditions against presenting their results to institutions or individuals in an attempt to obtain admission outside the approved process.
Parents and candidates should also be wary of admission agents or individuals who promise to secure places in tertiary institutions in exchange for money.
The release of the results therefore allows eligible underage candidates to know their scores, but it should not be interpreted as an automatic admission approval.
Candidates who meet the exceptional-admission requirements should follow JAMB’s approved process and await further admission procedures from the relevant institutions.
Those who do not meet the requirements should not rely on their UTME score alone to seek admission.
