The family of Abiodun Abdulazeez, a 57-year-old cocoa farmer allegedly killed on his farm in Owa-Onire, Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, has appealed to security agencies to investigate his death and bring those responsible to justice.
Speaking about the tragedy, his daughter, Rofiat Abdulazeez, said her father left home on July 11 after promising he would return early from his cocoa farm.
When he failed to return, family members alerted relatives and community members, who discovered only his motorcycle at the farm.

Believing he had been kidnapped, the family waited anxiously for a ransom demand.
Instead, hunters searching the area later found his lifeless body.
Rofiat Abdulazeez described her father as a hardworking farmer who had cultivated the same farmland for about 25 years and dedicated his life to caring for his family.
She said his death has left the family emotionally devastated and struggling financially.
According to her, no security agency has visited the family or provided updates on the investigation.
The family is calling for a thorough investigation to identify those behind the killing.
Rofiat also appealed to the Kwara State Government and relevant authorities to improve security across farming communities, saying farmers should be able to work without fear of losing their lives.
She said the last memory she has of her father is his promise that he would not stay long on the farm—a promise that was tragically cut short.
