Controversial TikTok personality and disc jockey, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has allegedly been arrested by security operatives over a viral video in which he made remarks about President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
The allegation was made on Thursday by DJ Chicken’s lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, in a video posted on his Instagram page, where he claimed the social media personality was apprehended in Ikeja, Lagos, and taken into police custody.
According to the lawyer, DJ Chicken is being held at the Ikeja Police Headquarters, although he suggested that officials of the Department of State Services may also be involved.
Stephen alleged that the arrest was linked to comments DJ Chicken made in a recently circulated video concerning Seyi Tinubu.
He appealed to supporters of the entertainer and individuals with access to the Presidency to intervene, urging the government to show leniency.
The lawyer described DJ Chicken as someone he had personally supported for years and said he took an interest in mentoring him as part of his efforts to help young people.
The controversy stems from a video widely circulated on social media in which DJ Chicken made comments about Seyi Tinubu. The clip generated significant public attention and debate online.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Department of State Services had issued an official statement confirming the alleged arrest or explaining the reason for the entertainer’s detention.
