Spain completed a historic FIFA World Cup campaign by defeating Argentina 1-0 after extra time in Sunday’s final to win the 2026 World Cup.
The victory handed La Roja their second world title, 16 years after their triumph in South Africa, while Argentina settled for the runners-up position.
England finished third after defeating France 6-4 in the third-place play-off.
FIFA also announced the winners of the tournament’s individual awards following the final.
Spain midfielder Rodri was named the tournament’s Best Player, winning the Golden Ball after leading his country’s title-winning campaign.
France captain Kylian Mbappe collected the Golden Boot after finishing as the competition’s top scorer with 10 goals, becoming the first player to win the award at consecutive World Cups.
Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon received the Golden Glove after conceding only one goal throughout the tournament.
Spanish defender Pau Cubarsi was named Best Young Player, while the Netherlands received the FIFA Fair Play Award.
