He said Nigeria’s fiscal transformation requires young people with the creativity, competence and courage to design practical solutions and build strong public institutions.

The organisers said the fellowship is open to qualified young Nigerians from diverse professional backgrounds, including economists, accountants, finance professionals, lawyers, tax practitioners, policy analysts, public finance experts, revenue administrators, strategic communicators and other individuals interested in fiscal policy and national development.

Successful applicants will participate in expert-led training sessions, mentorship, policy development workshops, field visits and collaborative problem-solving exercises.

The curriculum will focus on taxation, revenue mobilisation, fiscal governance, digital transformation, public finance management and sustainable economic growth.

According to the organisers, the initiative is intended to build a pipeline of highly skilled young professionals capable of developing practical solutions to Nigeria’s fiscal and economic challenges while strengthening leadership within the public sector.

Participants will also gain exposure to real-world policy engagements designed to deepen their understanding of fiscal administration and economic governance.

Applications for the 2026 fellowship opened on July 28, 2026, and will close on August 15, 2026. Interested candidates are expected to submit their applications through the designated online application portal before the deadline.

Named after Dr Zacch Adedeji, the fellowship seeks to nurture a new generation of professionals committed to strengthening fiscal governance and supporting Nigeria’s long-term economic development.
