Nigeria’s National Single Window (NSW) platform has processed 39,039 licenses, permits, certificates, and other regulatory applications within eight weeks of its rollout, marking a significant rise in adoption of the digital trade system.

The Director of the NSW Secretariat, Tola Fakolade, disclosed this in Lagos on Friday while briefing journalists on the progress of the platform since its phase one deployment in March 2026.

Fakolade said the figures reflect growing reliance on the platform by importers, exporters, and regulatory agencies for trade documentation and approvals.

He noted that about 39,039 LPCO applications were submitted through the system within the period under review.

A breakdown showed that the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) accounted for 30,937 applications, while the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) recorded 7,942 submissions.

The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) processed 138 applications, while the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) recorded 22 applications.

According to him, 7,567 users have so far been onboarded onto the platform, including importers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and licensed customs agents.

The breakdown includes 6,935 importers, 359 clearing and forwarding agents, 104 freight forwarders, and 169 licensed customs agents.

Fakolade also said the Air Cargo Manifest Module, launched on March 27, 2026, has already processed 136 manifests, with eight airlines and courier operators currently active on the system.

He added that training for stakeholders began in February across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Kano to prepare both public and private sector users for the platform.

A total of 2,990 private sector stakeholders and 579 government officials from various MDAs were trained on system operations, workflow management, and compliance procedures.

Phase Two of the rollout is expected to begin in June, with full integration of airlines and shipping companies into the cargo manifest system.
