Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (SAHCO) has posted a strong 2025 financial performance, recording ₦44.46 billion in revenue and a pre-tax profit of about ₦12.01 billion, as the aviation services firm signals fresh expansion plans into the United Arab Emirates and selected African markets.

The results, presented at its Annual General Meeting, reflect continued growth in passenger and cargo handling operations, improved efficiency across its airport network, and sustained investment in ground support infrastructure and workforce capacity.

Profit after tax for the period stood at about ₦9.74 billion, marking a significant year-on-year improvement from the previous financial year, while earnings per share rose to ₦7.20.

Revenue growth was largely driven by increased aviation activity across Nigerian airports, with passenger and cargo handling contributing the bulk of earnings. Industry reports indicate that passenger handling alone accounted for over ₦30 billion of revenue, underscoring its dominance in SAHCO’s business mix.

Chairman of the company, Dr Taiwo Afolabi, said the performance reflects the resilience of SAHCO’s business model and its ability to sustain growth despite macroeconomic pressures affecting the aviation sector.

He added that the company is positioning itself for wider regional exposure, with strategic plans already underway to expand operations into the UAE and other African countries as part of a long-term diversification drive.

According to SAHCO, the expansion strategy is aimed at strengthening its international footprint, increasing revenue streams beyond Nigeria, and leveraging growing demand for aviation ground handling services across emerging markets.

The company also highlighted balance sheet strength, with total assets rising significantly on the back of continued investment in equipment, logistics infrastructure and operational upgrades.

Analysts say the strong financial performance mirrors a broader recovery in Nigeria’s aviation support sector, where increased flight activities and cargo movements have boosted revenue for ground handling operators.

SAHCO, which operates across all major commercial airports in Nigeria, provides passenger, ramp and cargo handling services, aviation security support, lounge services and related logistics operations.
