The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has arrested two suspected vandals in separate intelligence-led operations in Kumbotso and Nassarawa Local Government Areas of the state.
The State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, announced the arrests while briefing journalists at the command headquarters in Kano on Monday.
He said the operations were conducted in Panshekara and Yankaba following credible intelligence and formed part of the command’s efforts to protect critical national assets across the state.

The suspects were identified as Gath Gamaliel, 22, from Zango in Kaduna State, and Salisu Jibrin, 31, a resident of Kurna in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to the NSCDC, Gamaliel was allegedly caught with 17 vandalised railway clips, while Jibrin was arrested after allegedly arriving to collect approximately 60 kilograms of suspected vandalised copper wire.
The command said the recovered materials were believed to have been illegally removed from public infrastructure.
Agalama said investigations were ongoing to identify other members of the suspected syndicate, adding that the suspects would be prosecuted after investigations are concluded.
He urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies to help protect critical national infrastructure and combat vandalism across the state.
