Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has signed a new contract extension that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2027, with the option of an additional year.

The new deal ends weeks of speculation over the England international’s future, with Maguire previously set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old centre-back, who joined United from Leicester City in an £80m move in 2019, has now committed his future to the club after a strong resurgence in form.

Maguire has made 266 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 17 goals and helping the club lift both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup during his time in Manchester.

Speaking after signing the extension, Maguire described representing United as “the ultimate honour” and said he remains convinced the club’s best moments are still ahead.

“I am delighted to extend my journey at this incredible club and continue to play in front of our special supporters,” he said.

The new agreement comes after the defender’s revival under Michael Carrick, having re-established himself as a key figure in United’s backline and recently forcing his way back into the England squad.

United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, praised Maguire’s leadership, resilience, and professionalism, describing him as an important presence in the dressing room.

The extension is seen as a major boost for the club as they continue their push for domestic and European success.
