A multi-vehicle crash involving articulated trucks and several other vehicles brought traffic to a standstill on the Kara Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday, leaving hundreds of commuters and motorists stranded for hours.
The collision occurred along one of Nigeria’s busiest transport corridors, triggering a lengthy traffic build-up as emergency responders and traffic management officials worked to clear the wreckage.
Eyewitness videos showed damaged vehicles occupying portions of the bridge while long queues of vehicles stretched in both directions.
As of the time of filing this report, there were no confirmed fatalities or injuries.
Emergency responders and traffic officials were at the scene coordinating rescue efforts, managing traffic and removing the affected vehicles to restore normal movement.
