The Ogun State Executive Council has approved a fresh wave of infrastructure and governance projects, including the construction of 450 housing units, new official quarters for members of the State House of Assembly, the reconstruction of the Ogun State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, rehabilitation of major roads and the upgrading of several traditional stools.
The approvals were announced in a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, who said the projects form part of the administration’s strategy to strengthen public infrastructure, improve governance and preserve the state’s cultural heritage.
According to Akinmade, the council approved the construction of 450 two-bedroom semi-detached bungalows with supporting infrastructure, 28 official quarters for members of the Ogun State House of Assembly and 28 sellable duplexes at the Ibara Government Reservation Area (GRA) Scheme II.

The Executive Council also approved the reconstruction of the Ogun State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, describing the project as part of efforts to modernise public facilities and preserve government assets for future administrations.
As part of the infrastructure package, the council approved the reconstruction of strategic roads across Ogun’s three senatorial districts to improve connectivity, facilitate trade and support economic growth.
The approved road projects include the Okun-Owa–Ijebu-Ode Road, the Ago-Iwoye–Ijebu-Igbo–Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Road, Phase One of the Odeda–Olugbo Road, the Ayobo (Mopol Junction)–Lafenwa Junction Road in Ota and Agbala Road in Iperu.
The Executive Council also approved the elevation and recognition of several traditional stools under the Ijebu, Egba and Yewa Traditional Councils as part of efforts to strengthen traditional institutions.
According to the state government, the 450-unit housing scheme will expand access to affordable housing, stimulate economic activities and complement ongoing urban renewal initiatives across the state.
The administration said the projects reflect its commitment to sustained infrastructure development, institutional reforms and improved public service delivery.
