Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has flagged off the 2027 Budget Formulation Town Hall Meetings across the state’s 361 political wards, urging residents to help shape development priorities through active participation.
The exercise was launched at Radda Ward in Charanchi Local Government Area as part of the state government’s commitment to participatory governance.
Speaking at the inauguration, the governor said sustainable development can only be achieved when citizens are actively involved in identifying community needs and setting priorities.

Radda noted that recommendations from previous ward-level consultations had influenced projects currently being implemented in education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, infrastructure, youth empowerment, social protection and security support.
The consultations are being held under the theme, “Building Your Future IV,” with residents encouraged to propose projects capable of delivering lasting benefits to their communities.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a government that listens to the people and ensures development reflects the genuine aspirations of local communities.
The ward-level budget consultation initiative was introduced to deepen transparency, accountability and public participation in Katsina’s budgeting process by allowing residents to contribute directly to annual development planning.
