Nigerian music star Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj, has donated three Sienna buses to lawyer and politician Pelumi Olajengbesi ahead of his campaign for the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Olajengbesi disclosed the development in a Facebook post, saying the vehicles were presented to him in Osogbo, Osun State, on Thursday.
According to him, D’Banj had contacted him about two weeks earlier to request the details of the person responsible for his campaign branding.
Olajengbesi said he assumed the request was connected to D’Banj’s CREAM initiative, which supports activities within the creative industry, and subsequently shared the contact.
He said he was surprised when three fully branded Sienna buses were later delivered to him.
Olajengbesi quoted the singer as telling him, “It’s my token of support.”
Expressing appreciation, the politician described the gesture as a significant show of support for his political journey.
The reported donation comes amid increasing public attention around Olajengbesi’s bid to represent Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections.
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, publicly expressed support for Olajengbesi’s ambition in September.
Davido described him as “My other project” and called him a “100% winning ticket” in an Instagram post.
Olajengbesi is the Accord Party candidate for the constituency. He previously contested the seat in 2019 and is also the convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in Osun State.
He served as spokesman for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign council during the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election.
His political ambition has also received other publicly reported endorsements.
In July, the Ijesa North Traditional Rulers’ Council endorsed his bid, while Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, declared support for him in September.
Olajengbesi, who turned 40 in August, has said the constituency needs stronger youth representation and a departure from what he describes as the recycling of old ideas.
He previously contested the federal constituency in 2019 and is now seeking a return to the race under the Accord Party platform.
The latest development puts D’Banj among the prominent entertainment figures publicly associated with Olajengbesi’s 2027 political campaign.
