Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered the race to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, with the Premier League club said to be preparing a £65 million move for the Galatasaray forward as they look to strengthen their attack before the close of the summer transfer window.

Reports linking Spurs with the Nigerian international gathered momentum on Monday, with claims that the north London club have received internal approval to begin formal negotiations for the 27-year-old.

According to the report, Tottenham believe agreeing personal terms with Osimhen would not pose a major obstacle, although convincing Galatasaray to part with one of their biggest stars could prove far more difficult.

The Turkish champions are reportedly seeking around €150 million for the Nigeria international, who joined the club in a permanent deal worth about €75 million and remains under contract until 2029.

Spurs eye proven goalscorer

Tottenham have already invested heavily in their squad this summer and are said to be keen to add a prolific striker capable of leading the line.

Osimhen has established himself as one of Europe’s elite forwards after helping Napoli win the Serie A title in 2022/23 before inspiring Galatasaray to consecutive Turkish Super Lig titles.

The Nigerian has scored 107 goals in 145 appearances across all competitions over the past four seasons, while also netting 16 goals in 27 UEFA Champions League matches, highlighting his consistency at the highest level.

The former Lille striker has frequently been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all previously credited with an interest.

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned among clubs monitoring the Super Eagles star.

Neither Tottenham nor Galatasaray has officially commented on the reported interest, leaving the striker’s future one of the major talking points of the summer transfer window.
