JAMB allows 2026 UTME candidates to upload O’Level results from home

Candidates can now verify and submit their O’Level results remotely, with JAMB electronically checking records against examination bodies.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has introduced a new system allowing 2026 UTME candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home without visiting a Computer-Based Test centre.

The new arrangement, initially covering results issued by the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, is designed to reduce queues and make the result-upload process easier for candidates.

JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, announced the development on Monday, saying the Board would verify candidates’ results directly with the examination bodies that issued them.

Under the new system, candidates can obtain a Result Verification Code and use it to submit their verified results to their JAMB profiles.

JAMB said the initiative would make its services “easier, faster, safer and more convenient” while reducing unnecessary physical visits to CBT centres.

The Board said the digital verification process would also help tackle problems linked to manual O’Level uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, unverified or fraudulent results and mistakes in entering subjects and grades.

How to verify your O’Level result

Candidates are required to first obtain a Result Verification Code.

The process is as follows:

  1. Visit the designated result-verification portal.
  2. Enter your NIN and click “Verify NIN.”
  3. Select the number of O’Level sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies.
  4. Enter your email address and GSM number.
  5. Make payment through the available payment gateway.
  6. Enter your examination number, examination series and examination year.
  7. Complete the verification process and obtain your Verification Code.

How to upload your verified result

After obtaining the Verification Code, send “VERIFY” followed by the code to 55019 or 66019.

JAMB will process the verification and send a notification to the candidate.

Candidates with two O’Level sittings should then log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”

Enter the Verification Code to display the two verified results.

Candidates should select the required subjects from the displayed results and click “Apply the O’Level Results.”

JAMB said candidates must select at least five and no more than nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once.

A notification will be issued after a successful upload.

The development is significant for candidates preparing for admission because JAMB requires O’Level results to be uploaded before candidates can be properly considered through the admission process.

The Board’s official guidance also warns candidates to keep their profile codes, passwords, e-PINs and other personal credentials confidential.

The home-upload system is expected to be particularly useful during periods of heavy patronage at CBT centres, when candidates often face long queues and network-related difficulties.

The initiative comes as JAMB continues its digital transformation under its new Registrar, Professor Segun Aina, who was appointed in May 2026 following the end of Professor Is-haq Oloyede’s tenure.

JAMB has said it will continue working with examination bodies and other government agencies to simplify its services and make admission-related processes more accessible to candidates.
