Actress and adult entertainment consultant Seyi Hunter has said many Nigerians consume adult content in private despite publicly maintaining conservative attitudes toward sexuality.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, Hunter argued that societal and religious expectations often influence how people present themselves publicly.
“I won’t call it hypocrisy; I’ll say Nigerians are private people. It’s like most of us are living double lives. People often feel the need to present themselves in ways that align with societal or religious expectations, even when their private interests are different,” she said.

Hunter also claimed that Nigeria records significant traffic on adult-content platforms, saying many people consume such material but rarely admit it publicly.
She added that younger generations appear more willing to have open conversations about sexuality than previous generations.
On relationships, the actress stressed that communication is essential for compatibility and intimacy.
“If you are sexually compatible with your partner, all you need is communication to get the ball rolling. Always let your partner know what you want, and always explore. Fifty per cent of sex and intimacy is communication. Even if there’s a deeper issue, you’ll never know without communication,” she said.
Hunter also reflected on a past relationship, saying attraction alone did not guarantee compatibility.
Her comments have sparked discussion about changing attitudes toward sexuality, relationships and communication in contemporary Nigerian society.
