Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Lungi, Sierra Leone, to participate in the 69th ECOWAS Heads of State and Government Summit.
Shettima was received at the Sierra Leone International Airport by Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, alongside senior Nigerian officials and diplomats.
Also on hand were Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye; Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Ambassador Ayo Luther-Ogbomode; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo; and Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to ECOWAS, Ambassador Olawale Awe.

The summit brings together heads of state, government officials, diplomats and development partners from across West Africa.
Regional leaders are expected to discuss peace and security, economic integration, democratic governance and sustainable development, while reviewing progress on key ECOWAS initiatives.
Nigeria’s participation underscores its commitment to regional diplomacy and continued cooperation with other ECOWAS member states.
