The Lagos State Government has sealed more than 20 properties in Ikeja Local Government Area over various physical planning violations.
The enforcement exercise, carried out by the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA), targeted landed properties, uncompleted buildings and structures with unauthorized extensions found to be in contravention of the Lagos State Physical Planning Law.
According to a statement issued on Saturday, the operation was led by the Permanent Secretary, Office of Physical Planning, Olayinka Wasiu, alongside the General Manager of LASPPPA, Kehinde Osinaike, and other officials.

Wasiu said the exercise was aimed at preventing building collapse, promoting orderly physical development and ensuring compliance with planning regulations.
He noted that the state government remains committed to safeguarding lives and property by enforcing laws that support a safe, resilient and sustainable built environment.
The permanent secretary said affected property owners had been served contravention notices before the enforcement exercise, giving them the opportunity to regularise their developments.
He also urged developers and property owners to obtain the required planning permits and approvals before embarking on any construction or structural alteration.
According to him, compliance with planning regulations is essential to achieving sustainable urban development across Lagos.
Wasiu added that LASPPPA would continue monitoring developments and enforcing planning laws across the state to curb illegal construction and preserve the integrity of the built environment.
He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the Lagos State Government’s vision of a safe, modern and well-regulated megacity.
